Ethan is two months old and it is amazing how much he is growing and changing every day! We had his two month appointment today and he is doing great! He weighed in at 11 pounds 4 ounces (20th percentile) and measured 23 inches (50th percentile). He also had to get 3 shots while we were there and I think I may have cried more than Ethan…..
One of my favorite parts of the days with Ethan is the morning. He is so talkative and recently started smiling. My heart melts every time he smiles when he recognizes mine or Steve’s voice and face.
I had made the move to put Ethan down in his crib around 8 weeks, with him still being swaddled with arms in. The first night he did great, but the next night he was not a fan. I decided to grab the DockATot to put him in inside the crib – and that did the trick! I am lucky to say since then he has been sleeping 8-11 hours throughout the night! (Knock on wood I didn’t just jinx myself). I think his great sleeping has a lot do with him getting more food throughout the day. We’re still breastfeeding, but for a while I felt like the wasn’t getting enough food. I started pumping more to give him a bottle throughout the day when the breast was not enough. And then for his bottle before bed, I do give him formula. I started doing that thinking he would recognize the difference and know it was bedtime. Sounds crazy… but, something’s working! I could go on and on with my crazy thoughts on what I do to get him to sleep, so let me know if you’d like to hear more!
Ethan’s two month highlights:
- first Easter
- first trip to Chagrin Falls
- first walk in his stroller around the neighborhood with Grady
- sleepovers at all of his grandparents
- loves sticking his tongue out and sucking on his hands
MONTH TWO FAVORITE PRODUCTS: still loving the DockATot. I use the aden + anais muslin swaddles every night. since feeding him more with a bottle, we have been using Dr. Brown’s. and I use a different bottle to go along with my crazy formula at bedtime theory. this swing is a go to any time of day and he loves looking at himself in the top. lastly, he loves his giraffe wubbanub (note: picture above).
