friday five

Looking forward to making this Bacon Butternut Squash soup this weekend. Here in Ohio we had our first snow last night, some places worse than others… but I am not ready for it. Bring back the perfect Fall weather! Also, this is only my second time partaking in the Friday Five and also the second time I’ve included bacon – I may have a problem.

Speaking of recipes, I tried out two new ones this week. On the left, Shaved Brussel Sprout and Chorizo Zucchini Pasta with Toasted Pine Nuts from Inspiralized. I loved it and cannot wait to make it again! I also think the leftovers the next day for lunch were even better. On the right, Turkey and Spinach Stuffed Sweet Potatoes from PaleOMG. Delicious. Such a perfect weeknight meal for when you need to detox from the weekend that will fill you up and is super easy to make!

Do you know what time of the year it is???? If anyone likes seasonal beers, Great Lakes Christmas Ale is the best of them all. Yesterday, they tapped the first batch at the brewpub. And next week it will be for sale outside of the brewpub in Ohio City. Tis the Season!

Thank you everyone who gave feedback on my Wedding Wednesday post. It’s so nice to have a community of bloggers that are there to offer their opinion and give advice. Thank you all so much!

This is probably the first Halloween I am dressing up for in a couple years – and I’m looking forward to it! Steve won’t be able to attend the party so I will be going with his brother and sister-in-law as a trio costume (the picture might give you a hint). My favorite kinds of costumes are the ones were it’s acceptable to have sweatpants on for them. Waayyy over the mini skirts and high socks. Although, I did pull off a pretty amazing Carmen SanDiego costume back in the college days:

Have a great weekend!

What will you be dressing up as for Halloween?

I know it just turned fall not too long ago, but I wouldn't mind having a little snow in our area. If we ever win the lottery, I want to buy a house in the mountains to enjoy the early snowfalls.
