The first time I ever stepped foot in New York City was this past September when I had 4 bags in tow starting to move things in before I officially moved here in October. Before that, I never thought ONCE I would ever want to make a trip to visit NYC, let alone move here. But now that I am here (and very thrilled I am), I have caught the Christmas Spirit bug. Here is my bucket list of what I plan to see this month in NYC (hopefully some snow comes soon)!
Probably more than actual shopping… My first walk down Madison Avenue I was mesmerized by the beautiful window displays everywhere, I can only imagine how magical they look now. (I saw this window display at Barney’s – “Swimming with the Louboutins”)
This is an obvious one but yet, a must see. Probably won’t end up ice skating there – unless we go at like 3pm on a Tuesday. For all I know it will still be busy then.
At the Hudson Hotel in Manhattan, they attached a huge tent to make into a winter lodge feel. S’mores grilled cheese, anyone?
This year the Christmas tree at The Plaza Hotel is Great Gatsby inspired. The Great Gatsby is one of my all-time favorite books & movies. And who’s not excited to have Leonardo DiCaprio as the next Jay Gatsby?
I hope to find some unique items at the Bryant Park Christmas market for my Christmas shopping. The market holds over 100 shops and also has a skating rink in the middle.
Since this is our first Christmas living together, I think it would be such a cute memento to have to remember it. We are not putting up a tree in our tiny apartment but that Yucca Tree we bought a while back might turn into one.
Hopefully I will be able to mark these off my bucket list & share each one with you. But this 60 degree and rainy weather is not getting me in the mood! If anyone knows of any special NYC spots for the Holidays I would love to add them to my list!
