pre-thanksgiving fiesta

Last night, one of my oldest friends, Mary Alice, had me over for a little fiesta and reunion. We met playing on the same junior Olympic volleyball team sophomore year of high school. Even though we went to different high schools, we still remained close. Then college came and I stayed in Ohio and went to Bowling Green as Mary Alice went to college in Colorado. Even though we were so far apart, she is one of those friends that we may not talk every day, but when we are together it is like we never even missed a second.

(Let’s not talk about our coordinating outfits and popped collars)

Mary Alice also loves cooking and got all her recipes last night from the blog Simply Scratch. I didn’t take any pictures, but here’s an idea to what she made:

Mango Cucumber Salsa

Beer Marinated Chicken Thighs

Sweet Corn Salsa

Garlic-Habanero Sour Cream

and these little things I could have eaten dozens of..

Cinnamon Morning Muffins

I highly reccomed you try these recipes the next time you’re in the mood for some tacos. Everything was so fresh and using chicken thighs instead of breasts was so flavorful.

This week I’ve decided to do something new and link up for Oh, how Pinteresting!

These DIY drinkholders that stick right in the ground.

(Years ago we used candle holders to stick in the sand for our vacations to the Outer Banks, this would be so fun to personalize for everyone!)
