post thanksgiving coma

This past Thanksgiving, my parents and I took a 12-hour car trip to Lawrence, Kansas to visit my brother and spend the holiday with him. The best part was that he had no idea that I was coming – so when we arrived in Kansas (Thursday at 5:30am), my parents went in and I waited 5 minutes and then busted in the door with a case of Christmas Ale. And in true family form, we all enjoyed a beverage before we took a nap before the rest of the day.

With my brother // our delicious spread // after dinner “schooners” at Louise’s West  // cooking with my Oma’s apron

The next day, after we finally got moving, we headed to downtown Massachusetts Street to walk around and shop. And of course more eating and drinking…

FreeState Brewing Company // back at Louise’s West // midnight car bombs // birthday shots

Saturday was my brother’s birthday and also the Ohio State vs. Michigan game – and being in the Central time zone meant we had to be at the bar at 11am for kick off. Obviously this day turned out to be a long one..

Don’t worry the weekend doesn’t end there. Sunday we were able to take a private tour and tasting of Boulevard Brewery in Kansas City..

Writing this post is making me feel hungover all over again – hence why I need to detox from here to 2013. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
